Sodium Hydroxide Pearls

R 85.00

Isivuno Naturals Sodium Hydroxide Pearls, a granular (small pearls) version, also known as lye, is used in the manufacturing of handmade Soaps.  It is the same strength as sodium hydroxide flakes.

Please note that when soaps are well-formulated, there is no lye left in soaps after saponification is complete (average 24 - 48 hours).

Tip for making up lye solution

Great produc! I keep the deionised water in the fridge, so when making up the lthe solution, the temperature is lower, and there are no fumes. There's also hardy any waiting to mix with oils, as the temperatures of both are comparable.

Hi Deborah,
Thank you for your order! That is such a great tip thank you. I take it a step further when making soap and freeze my deionised water. I use it straight from frozen - no fumes whatsoever.
