Basic Handmade Soap Mix ( Preblend)

With our true and tried soapmaking recipes, it is as easy to make your own natural, cold-processed, handmade soaps from scratch as effortlessly as Melt,  Pour and Make.

Our Basic SoapMix is great value for money and saves you time and effort of formulating and testing your own recipe.  It will give you consistent results whether you are making soap at home, are a startup business or a scale-up business wanting to save time on buying and  weighing out different oils. 

This recipe will make 1300g of soap when mixed with lye and water and contains 5% superfat. It creates hard, conditioning bars of soap.

No Petro-chemicals, SLS or Sulphates.  

4.5g size is made to order with a 5 day leadtime.

Please note new sodium hydroxide and water ratios as updated.  The recipe is still exactly the same, but there is a 2g difference in the water/lye ratio.  Provided below is also the same recipe at 850g -  this is purely incase you can not get the exact 900g out of the bottle.  The bottle still contains the same amount of oil.

Ingredients:

Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Castor Oil, Vitamin E.

HOW TO USE

You will need:

• 900g Basic Soapmaking Ready Mix
• 126g Sodium Hydroxide (Lye) (was 128g)
• 268g Distilled or De-ionised Water (was 273g)

OR

• 850g Basic Soapmaking Ready Mix
• 119g Sodium Hydroxide (Lye) 
• 253g Distilled or De-ionised Water 

FOR 4.5KG BATCH

• 4500g Basic Soapmaking Ready Mix
• 630g Sodium Hydroxide (Lye) 
• 1340g Distilled or De-ionised Water 

Optional Ingredients:

• 27g Essential Oils / 900G SoapMix
• Clays/Powders/Colourants

Usage Instructions:

Please make sure you have read and understand the soap-making instructions here.  The only difference is that you will be using pre-blended mix of oils instead of weighing and melting oils individually.

• Melt the Soap Mix bottle in a bowl or pot of hot water with the cap on (if hard at room temperature). Shake well and weigh 900g into a soaping container.  Follow the soap-making instructions here. 

Important to Note:

• It is important to make sure that the Basic ready mix is fully melted and uniformly mixed before decanting into your soaping container. 
• It is important that the exact amount of 900g is weighed out. There is a little more than that in the bottle, so please weigh out carefully.  You may weigh out 850 and follow above usage rates for lye.
• Follow the soap-making instructions thoroughly.
• The recipe is already superfatted at 5%, any extra added oil will add to that superfat.  Adding another oil will increase your superfat value.  Do not add more than 3% more if you wish to superfat more. 

  Please use the blend within 3 months.
