One of the very first homemade skincare products I ever made was hand crafted soap. I was (and still am) fascinated by the idea of turning pure natural oils and butters, through a chemical process known as saponification, to nourishing, good-for-your-skin soap. I still remember the very first batch I made, almost 10 years ago. I made just one batch and never looked back and before I knew it, I had turned my hobby into a business.
In all my years of making soap, with the the countless batches of soap I have made, I have not come across any ingredient that adds a certain luxury to soap more than unrefined shea butter does, and that is why we use it in all our soaps.
Here is a simple beginner recipe for Shea Butter Soap you can make.
