Xanthan Gum is a food-grade ingredient that is used as a thickener and stabiliser in lotions. It is added in the water phase of the emulsion, at a minimum rate of 0.1% and up to 1%.
Use at 0.1% in water phase. It is best to first disperse it into Glycerine and then add the mix to water, while blending at high shear (with your stick blender). It is not compatible with cationic emulsifiers like BTMS.
Xanthan Gum - Food Grade
Finding natural products to work together so that your beard wash (in particular) does not separate from the coconut oil was hard to find. That is how I came on to your website. Thank goodness! How do they say a little goes a long way. Mixing it with some castor oil and then my product. It created an amazing wash and no separation either. Xanthan gum is safe as it is used in food products as well, not meaning to drink my wash lol! So I am so happy to have solved my problem. Yay! Thanks
