Xanthan Gum is a food-grade ingredient used as a thickener and stabilizer in lotions. It is added in the water phase of the emulsion at a minimum rate of 0.1% and up to 1%. Xanthan gum can also be used to make light lotions.
Use at 0.1% in water phase. It is best to disperse it in glycerine first and add the mix to water while blending at high shear (with your stick blender). It is not compatible with cationic emulsifiers like BTMS.
