Shea Melt & Pour Soap Base

R 140.00

Isivuno Naturals Shea Melt and Pour Soap Base is truly the perfect base to help you make your own soap!
It has taken us months to perfect an all-natural glycerine soap formula that is skin loving, nourishing and moisturising and has a creamy feel.

What makes our Shea Melt & Pour base different is that we broke some  rules with regards to formulating  M & P soap base from scratch.

  • Firstly, our base is made with a high amount of Shea Butter, which is high in unsaponifiables - this gives extra moisturising benefits as it has plenty free oils to nourish your skin.
  • It is superfatted (contains free extra oils) - regular M&P isn’t superfatted to avoid the cloudy appearance of soap.  We preferred to forgo crystal clear look for soap that is extra gentle.
  • Our Shea Melt and Pour doesn’t contain any harsh sulfates like SLS, SLES etc.  It doesn’t not contain any surfactants either.
  • We don’t use alcohol (ethanol or Isopropyl) to make our premium Shea Melt and Pour Soap Base.  Alcohol makes M & P soap base clearer and is used as a solvent.

What this premium Shea Melt and Pour Soap Base soap isn’t:

It isn’t the clearest M&P soap base because we don’t use alcohol and it’s superfatted. Extra oils give it a cloudier look.

It isn’t a non-sweat base, because it contains loads of skin-loving glycerine.  Glycerine is a humectant that draws moisture to your skin.

It doesn’t melt in a flash, because it has less solvents and more oils.  In our test kitchen, 100g melts in 12 seconds in microwave.

Why you will love it:

Our Shea Melt and Pour soap base is made like cold-processed soap that is meltable. We’ve used lots of oils and butters: Shea Butter for moisturising, castor oil for beautiful lather and coconut oil for hardness.  Our solvents are naturally derived.  We don’t use sulphates or surfactants.

Our soap is made in-house, right here in Cape Town, South Africa, using a premium proprietary formula.

How To Use:

Cut the base into small, uniform cubes. Place them into a heat-safe container and melt in the microwave using 10 to 30 second bursts, stirring between each one. Mix in any additives, pour into molds, and spritz with alcohol to pop bubbles. Let the soap fully cool and harden for 4 to 24 hours, unmold, and enjoy.

You can add up to 1% essential oil for scenting the soap.

Do not add more than 2% of carrier oil.
Please store in airtight container to avoid sweating.
